Why Clayton Kershaw isn't pitching despite being on Dodgers' World Series roster before retirement

This is the end for Clayton Kershaw.

When this World Series is over, win or lose, the Los Angeles Dodgers ' legendary left-hander is hanging up his spikes. He's already announced his retirement from MLB.

The only question left is whether Kershaw will pitch again.

Kershaw is on the Dodgers' 26-man World Series roster, but it's not a given that he takes the mound. He didn't during the NLCS.

It'd obviously be special for Kershaw to go out with another appearance in Dodgers blue. Depending on how the World Series games go against the Toronto Blue Jays , that may or may not happen.
