SALT LAKE CITY (ABC4) — Police have made an arrest in connection with a Salt Lake City gang shooting from May.

Sebastian Xavier Olmedo, 19, was arrested and booked on almost 30 felony counts in connection with an alleged gang-related shooting that took place on May 25, 2025.

According to the Salt Lake City Police Department, Olmedo arrived at a residence near 400 North and Pamela Way along with other members of a criminal street gang. The group allegedly went to the location after learning that a female friend had been "brutally assaulted" by a rival gang member.

Members of the rival gang arrived at the house later, to which Olmedo opened fire along with another shooter. The two reportedly discharged a combined 24 rounds during the shooting. Police say multiple cars in the area were hit
