SUMTER COUNTY, S.C. (WIS) - A Midlands man is facing charges related to child sexual abuse material, according to authorities.
The South Carolina Attorney General’s Office said 43-year-old Derrick Vaughn Nielsen was arrested Wednesday and charged with five counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.
Nielsen is accused of distributing files of child sexual abuse material. The attorney general’s office said a CyberTipline report from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children led authorities to Nielsen.
Records show Nielsen was booked at the Sumter-Lee Regional Detention Center and faces two additional charges: possession of cocaine and possession of methamphetamine. He was denied bond.
