CLAY COUNTY, Fla. — Responding to community concerns of the timeliness of the Clay County Sheriff's Office's driver's license checkpoint operation Friday , Clay County Chief of Community Affairs Domenic Paniccia said more are planned for the future and explained that such operations are routine.

When asked if he's surprised by how much attention the operation received from the community, Paniccia said: "I am a little bit. Twenty-eight years in law enforcement, this is my first press conference on a driver's license checkpoint. But hey, transparency is what we're all about."

Friday's checkpoint took place in Green Cove Springs from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. Paniccia gave the rundown. He explained that deputies pulled over every 5th vehicle for the checkpoint.
