A Warren police officer is charged with embezzlement in connection with the Police Explorer Program for youth.
Jack Barnes was arraigned in 40th District Court in St. Clair Shores on Friday and charged with embezzlement from a charitable organization $200 to $1,000, a five-year felony. Barnes pleaded not guilty to the charge and Judge Joseph Oster set personal bond at $5,000. Barnes’ next court date is Nov. 18.
Barnes has been employeed with the Warren Police Department since Decmber 2023 and has a final employment hearing scheduled in the coming days.
