LATHAM, N.Y. — The New York State Police have arrested one of their own.
Retired Trooper Thomas H. Mungeer, 56, is charged with grand larceny in the third degree, a class D felony.
Investigators say that between March 5, 2018, and Oct. 4, 2022, while serving as president of the New York State Troopers Police Benevolent Association (NYSTPBA), Mungeer misappropriated union funds for his own personal use and expenses.
The arrest took place at the Troop G Headquarters in Latham.
Mungeer was arraigned in Albany City Court and released pending his next court appearance in Albany County Superior Court on Dec. 1 at 9:30 a.m.
