Three cars in a CPKC train traveling over Turkey Creek in the north part of Joplin derailed at around 8:30 p.m. Thursday.
CPKC said in a written statement sent to the city of Joplin that no one was injured and the rail cars that jumped the tracks were carrying finished cars and trucks. No hazardous materials were involved and there was no risk to public safety. ×
