Meals will not be served at some area senior centers beginning Monday due to the government shutdown, the Area Agency on Aging Region X announced Friday.

Charlotte Foust, resource director for the AAA, said they get their funding through the Older Americans Act. Created in 1965, it’s considered to be the major vehicle for delivery of social and nutrition services to seniors. ×
