Members of the Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards loyalty program can now score free Wi-Fi on their flights. Starting Friday, the Dallas-based budget airline is offering the perk through a partnership with service provider T-Mobile.
Travelers who are not already Rapid Rewards members can sign up to create an account for free. You do not need to be a T-Mobile customer in order to qualify for the free Wi-Fi. Southwest travelers who are not Rapid Rewards members can purchase Wi-Fi for $8 per device, each way.
In order to access the free Wi-Fi, customers will need to link the Rapid Rewards number to their reservation. The confirmation number on the reservation is then used to access the Wi-Fi.
The free internet is compatible with certain iPhone, iPad, Android, Mac and Windows PC devices. More
