CINCINNATI —

Four men have been charged in connection with a 2016 murder-for-hire investigation in the Westwood area.

According to the Hamilton County Prosecutor’s Office, the victim was involved in two home-invasion robberies and was allegedly threatening one of the suspects’ mothers.

Investigators said two of the suspects plotted to kill Kareem Howell, 23, and allegedly paid two other men $30,000 to shoot him in a wooded area.

On Thursday, the four suspects were indicted on charges of aggravated murder, murder, felonious assault and aggravated robbery. They have been identified as:

Darius Holley, 32

Charlie Dailey, 29

Romello Wheeler, 30

Brandon Webster, 33
