CLEVELAND, Ohio — Northeast Ohio will hang onto a few more lake-effect rain showers Friday before drier, calmer weather settles in for the weekend.
A broad trough remains parked over the Great Lakes, keeping clouds and scattered showers in place early in the day, especially from eastern Cuyahoga County through Lake, Geauga and Ashtabula counties.
Rain showers will largely be limited to the primary snowbelt region, though light showers could extend as far west as Lorain and Erie counties at times, according to the National Weather Service in Cleveland .
Most inland areas will see more breaks in the clouds through the afternoon as high pressure begins to build in from the west. Temperatures will stay below normal, with highs struggling to climb past the upper 40s to near 50 degrees unde
