The New York Knicks have issued a cease and desist letter to NYC mayoral candidate Zohran Mamdani after his campaign used an altered version of the basketball team’s logo for an advertisement.

According to the New York Post , the Knicks stressed that they “do not endorse Mr. Mamdani for Mayor.”

The ad featured a modified version of the iconic orange and blue logo that read “Zohran” in place of the team’s name.

The letter said the ad is “likely to mislead the public into believing that the Campaign is affiliated with, sponsored or endorsed by, or in some way connected with the Knicks.”

The campaign aired during the Knicks season-opener on Wednesday and was posted on Mamdani’s social media platforms.
