The Forest Lake Area School Board will hold a special meeting next week to determine the process for filling the seat on the board previously held by Luke Hagglund.
Hagglund, whose term expires on Jan. 4, 2027, resigned effective 11:59 p.m. Thursday. In his resignation letter, Hagglund wrote that he would not be able to serve the remainder of his term because he is “relocating outside of the school district’s boundaries.”
“I am grateful for the opportunity and trust the public has bestowed upon me to bring academic excellence, fiscal responsibility, and parents rights back to Forest Lake Area School District,” Hagglund wrote. “I feel this board has made tremendous progress over the past 10 months in achieving those goals. … I pray for God‘s continued guidance over Forest Lake Area School
