Stepping out of the race car and removing her helmet, war widow Breeanna Till was enthusiastic about chasing "that millimetre extra" that helps her to drive away intrusive thoughts and to focus, at the Pheasants Wood motorsport circuit in Marulan NSW.
Racing cars was not something she had ever considered, but two years ago, after experiencing Wollongong Sporting Clubs track, Ms Till hasn't looked back — and an opportunity to share the experience with her teenage son, Ziggy, this holiday, piqued her interest.
In 2008, when her husband, Sergeant Brett Till, was killed serving in Afghanistan, she was pregnant with Ziggy, and the ramifications have affected their lives ever since, as well as the lives of Sergeant Till's children from a previous marriage.
