BENTON COUNTY, Ark. (KNWA/KFTA) — Walmart purchased nearly 90 acres of land in Benton County last month, land records show.
The Bentonville-based retailer bought two areas of land in different cities.
On Sept. 22, Walmart bought 38.70 acres near Herbaugh Road and Arkansas Highway 72 in Springdale for $4 million. Land records say the property was previously owned by Charles and Betty Rakes.
A week later, Walmart purchased 50.43 acres near Old Wire Road (Arkansas Highway 265) and East Apple Blossom Avenue for $11.23 million. Lowell-based Vanzant Fruit Farms Inc. previously owned the land.
Details about what Walmart plans to do with the land have not been publicly released.
