The Ontario government is pulling anti-tariff ads running in the United States that prompted U.S. President Donald Trump to scrap trade talks with Canada.
Premier Doug Ford said today that his government has reached its goals, having reached U.S. audiences at the highest levels.
In a statement, Ford said that, following a discussion with Prime Minister Carney, Ontario will pause its U.S. advertising campaign effective Monday so that trade talks can resume.
“I’ve directed my team to keep putting our message in front of Americans over the weekend so that we can air our commercial during the first two World Series games,” Ford said in a statement.
