Firebrook Park is a lovely place to spend a day — but that doesn't mean it couldn't use a tweak here and there. Over time, local Boy Scouts have been happy to help provide some upgrades.

That includes the dog park obstacle course built by Riley Vanover in 2023, and Andrew Kelly crafting a signage display cabinet last year. In 2025, it was 18-year-old Southwestern High School senior Tyler Phelps going to Firebrook for his Eagle Scout project — and building a ramp to help make access a little easier for all sorts of park visitors.
