PRINCE GEORGE'S COUNTY, Md. — A former Parkdale High School teacher was released after a jury found him not guilty on several counts of charges of sexual abuse against a minor. The jury was unable to come to an agreement on one charge of sexual abuse of a minor, resulting in a mistrial.
Amir Johnson was indicted in June on charges of sexual abuse of a minor and rape. The former Parkdale High School teacher was accused of having multiple sexual encounters with the victim, identified by the Prince George's County state's attorney as a "child," who was a student at Parkdale.
Prince George's County Public Schools (PGCPS) said in June that Johnson was hired to work at Parkdale in October 2023. The teacher was removed, per school district policy, after administrators learned about the sexua
