COLUMBIA — Next May, George Strait will play a concert at Clemson’s Death Valley stadium, the first show there since 1999.

The last time there was a concert at Williams-Brice Stadium, Donald Trump was halfway through his first presidency, Drake had the No. 1 song on the charts, “Crazy Rich Asians” was topping the box office and the Gamecocks were heading into their third season with Coach Will Muschamp.

Back in April, the Tigers conceded their field for the Savannah Bananas in a sold-out circus-meets-baseball-meets-TikTok palooza.

But will concerts make a return to Williams-Brice? The university says so.
