NEW WATERFORD, Ohio (WKBN) - The New Waterford road levy is expiring at the end of this year. The village has put a levy back on the ballot, but it's not a renewal. It's a different approach to handling the same situation.
New Waterford is a village of 1,300 people. A current road levy is combined with Unity Township. But due to uncertainty at the state level, New Waterford is choosing to try and pass its own. "Now is the perfect time before anything else would change with the way they handle levees that we would separate the levees now so we don't run into an issue in the future," said New Waterford Mayor Shane Petrone.
