NEW ORLEANS (WGNO) - Both a Coastal Flood Advisory & Small Craft Advisory will go into effect starting at 7 p.m. on Friday.
The Small Craft Advisory will be for all coastal waters of southeastern Louisiana and Mississippi starting at 7 p.m. on Friday through 1 a.m. on Sunday.
The National Weather Service says there will be southeast winds up to 25-knots (or about 29-mph) in addition to waves up to 7-feet in the Gulf and 5-feet in the Sound.
Conditions on the water will be hazardous particularly for small crafts so the NWS asks that "inexperienced mariners avoid navigating in [these] conditions."
There's also a Coastal Flood Advisory going into effect for lower St. Bernard, southeast St. Tammany and eastern Orleans parishes along with southern Hancock County starting at 7 p.m. on Friday
