AKRON, Ohio – The Akron-Summit Council on Holocaust and Genocide Education will host a free educational seminar on Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 5:30-7:30 p.m. at the Akron-Summit County Public Library.

The seminar is titled “Holocaust and Genocide: The Importance of Hope and Resistance.” Seminar attendees will learn about how individuals and communities found ways to remain hopeful and resist oppression during the Holocaust and other genocides, according to an event news release. The event aligns with the Council’s mission to promote awareness, remembrance and moral responsibility. Virtual attendees can view the seminar on the Akron-Summit Council on Holocaust and Genocide Education website .

Longtime Hawken School teacher James Newman will serve as a presenter at the event.
