IDA GROVE, Iowa (KTIV) - A woman who ran an in-home daycare in Northwest Iowa is facing charges after 911 was called for an unresponsive child.

The Ida County Sheriff’s Office says 41-year-old Megan Louise Montgomery is facing two felonies: one count of willful injury and one count of child endangerment causing serious injury.

According to the sheriff’s office, Montgomery was arrested on Tuesday, Oct. 21, after an investigation began in early September 2025.

Court documents show on Thursday, Sept. 11, first responders were sent to Montgomery’s Ida Grove home for an 11-month-old infant who was unresponsive.

Those documents state Montgomery provided in-home daycare from her Ida Grove residence, and on that day, she was caring for several children.
