PHOENIX (AZFamily) — A man who was hospitalized after getting into a shootout with Phoenix officers last month has moved from a hospital bed to behind bars, police announced on Thursday.
Investigators said 22-year-old Francisco Torres was released from the hospital and booked into jail on one count of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. A mug shot hasn’t been released.
On Sept. 2, shortly after 11:30 a.m., officers surrounded an apartment in the area of 17th Avenue and Tonto Street , north of Buckeye Road.
“Phoenix Police Task Force,” an officer can be heard yelling in body camera video released last month . “Open the door!” said another. “Search warrant!” yelled an officer.
