FOND DU LAC, Wis. (WFRV) - Firefighters in Fond du Lac quickly contained a garage fire Friday afternoon that caused heavy exterior damage but resulted in no injuries.
Crews were called to the area of 14th Street and Wabash Street shortly before 4:45 p.m. for reports of a structure fire. When they arrived, they found a single-car detached wood-frame garage on fire in the 200 block of 14th Street.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control within five minutes. Officials say the fire started on the outside wall at the rear of the garage and extended into the roof area.
The outside rear wall sustained heavy damage, while the inside suffered only minor damage. No nearby structures or vehicles were affected, and no civilians or firefighters were injured.
