A ribbon cutting will be held next week for a new disc golf course in New Buffalo Township.

Township Parks Director Patrick Donnelly tells us the course is at Glassman Park, off Glassman Road in Union Pier. The township acquired the roughly 40-acre site back in the 1970s and ramped up its development about ten years ago.

“ We actually built a parking lot and a kayak launch there in 2016, a nd then about two years ago, our parks board was talking about ideas to do with the upper area that we had there,” Donnelly said. “O ne of the members suggested a disc golf course, and we just kind of ran from there.”
