NEW ORLEANS —
The New Orleans Police Department has two new officers, and they hope to carry on a family legacy.

Lt. Regina Williams, who is currently assigned to the Special Operations Division and was instrumental in the creation of the department's new K-9 kennels dedicated in June 2025, had the honor of pinning her daughter Jourdan, who has dreamed of becoming an officer like her mom.
"I have so many inner feelings I can't explain. It's a proud moment for me," Williams said. Jourdan expressed her excitement, saying, "She's my role model. I'm excited to do this with her."
