A Rumford man died on Friday after his ATV rolled over on him.
Jeffrey Lang, 78, was driving a 2011 Yamaha 450 Grizzly in the woods near Wyman Hill Road in Rumford scouting for deer season at about 12:30 p.m. Friday, Mark Latti, a spokesperson for the Maine Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife said in a news release.
While going up a steep hill on an old woods road, the ATV rolled over on Lang, pinning him to the ground. His wife, who was in the woods nearby, ran to get help, while a person at a nearby residence heard them calling for help and called 911, Latti said.
Rumford police and fire personnel, ambulance and game wardens responded, but Lang died at the scene, Latti said.
