PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - The Portland Trail Blazers are preparing for their first game without head coach Chauncey Billups in their Friday night matchup against the Golden State Warriors.
The Blazers are looking for their first win of the season after their loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on Wednesday night to at the Moda Center.
Tiago Splitter—who played for the San Antonio Spurs, Atlanta Hawks, and Philadelphia 76ers prior to his coaching career—will lead the Blazers as interim head coach in Billups’ absence.
Billups was placed on leave by the NBA on Thursday after he was arrested along with several others as part of a federal illegal gambling investigation.
Splitter is expected to speak during the Blazers’ pre-game media availability at 5:15 p.m.
