LORAIN, Ohio — An 18-year-old Lorain student killed earlier this week was accidentally shot by a juvenile, police say.
Lorain police said Friday that Isaac Brocco-Rivera was shot by a relative inside a car at Lakeview Park North.
Police officials are working with the Lorain County Prosecutor’s Office to determine if any charges will be filed.
The shooting happened about 6:45 p.m. Oct. 18 in a car near the west end of the park’s parking lot, police said. Brocco-Rivera was shot once in the head.
The juvenile family member was holding the gun when it accidentally discharged, according to police. Police have since found a gun that investigators believe was used in the shooting. Forensic testing on the gun is pending, police said.
