2 children hospitalized with burns after brush fire in Hamden

HAMDEN, Conn. (WFSB) - Two kids have been hospitalized with burn injuries after a brush fire in Hamden.

The Hamden Fire Department responded to the area of Stratton Court for reports of a brush fire this evening. When firefighters arrived, the fire was already extinguished by a neighbor.

Fire officials say two kids suffered burn injuries during this incident.

One child was taken to the Bridgeport Burn Center, while the other was transported to Yale Pediatric for specialized care.

“The Hamden Fire Department quickly assessed the situation and provided immediate treatment to the injured individuals before they were transported by American Medical Response,” the fire department said in a statement.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
