HARTFORD, CT. (WFSB) - The Hartford Wolf Pack fell 3-0 to the Bridgeport Islanders on Friday night at PeoplesBank Arena in the first of 12 meetings between the Connecticut rivals this season.

The Islanders scored three goals in the opening period to take control of the game. Joey Larson opened the scoring three minutes into the game, firing a shot from the left-wing circle that beat Wolf Pack goaltender Dylan Garand over the right shoulder for his second goal of the season.

Larson added an assist at 8:01 when Matthew Highmore scored his first goal as an Islander. Garand stopped Larson’s initial shot, but Highmore collected the rebound and lifted it over Garand’s right pad.
