On Friday at 5:54 p.m. a wind advisory was released by the National Weather Service in effect until 11 p.m. for Southern Blue Mountains of Oregon.
"Southwest winds 20 to 30 mph with gusts up to 50 mph expected," states the weather service. "A period of gusty winds is expected to accompany a cold frontal passage this evening, with otherwise lighter winds today."
"Gusty winds will blow around unsecured objects. Tree limbs could be blown down and a few power outages may result," comments the weather service. "Winds this strong can make driving difficult, especially for high profile vehicles. Use extra caution."
