Department of Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem was in Minneapolis on Friday afternoon to announce that "dozens" of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officers would be sent to the Twin Cities within the next two weeks.
Speaking at the Bishop Henry Whipple Federal Building in Fort Snelling on Friday afternoon, Noem provided an update on the "Trump administration’s immigration enforcement operations in the Twin Cities," and praised the work of ICE agents under her direction.
Outside, hundreds of protesters gathered outside to state their opposition to the department's controversial tactics, which have seen American citizens and legal permanent residents detained as part of the widespread immigration crackdown.
