COLUMBUS, Ohio — One person was injured in a house fire Friday night in Grove City, according to a Jackson Township fire chief.

Firefighters were called around 9:15 p.m. to the home in the 3300 block of Tareyton Drive near Hoover Road.

The fire chief said the homeowner, who appeared to be an older female victim, was rescued from inside and taken to Wexner Medical Center in critical condition.

The fire, which mostly damaged the attic and the second floor, was quickly extinguished, according to the fire chief.

Family members later arrived at the scene.

No other injuries were reported.

The fire remains under investigation.
