Jerusalem, Oct 25: The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) announced that it has killed a senior Hezbollah commander, Abbas Hassan Karky, in an airstrike in southern Lebanon, intensifying tensions along the volatile border despite an ongoing ceasefire.
According to the IDF statement released on Friday, Karky, who served as the logistics commander of Hezbollah’s Southern Front headquarters, was killed in the Nabatieh region. The military said Karky had been leading efforts in recent months to rebuild Hezbollah’s combat capabilities, including restoring infrastructure destroyed during last year’s conflict.
