Teesside Live readers have been discussing the news that traders in Marske are disappointed after their efforts to claim compensation for losses caused by the town square improvement works were rejected.

Businesses around Marske Square reported takings down by as much as 70% during the Beyond Housing-led project, which suffered delays and overruns. Fencing and a large compound blocked views of the square, despite shops remaining open. Beyond Housing later admitted that progress had been “slower than anticipated due to contractor issues.”
