Gabe Vilardi scored his first goal of the season in a 5-3 win over the Flames

Gabe Vilardi scored his first goal of the season in a Winnipeg Jets 5-3 win over the Calgary Flames at Canada Life Centre on Friday night.

Vilardi scored on the power play at 9:50 of the second period when he skated into the face-off circle to the right of Dustin Wolf before taking a pass from Mark Scheifele to beat the Calgary netminder to the short side.

The goal came in Vilardi’s eighth game of the season. Vilardi also picked up an assist on Alex Iafallo’s second period power-play goal. Last season, Vilardi didn’t score his first goal until his sixth game fo the campaign.

Kyle Connor, Jonathan Toews and Vlad Namestnikov also scored for the Jets. Connor’s goal snapped a six-game drought for the winger. C
