GRANDIN, ND (KXNET) — A 71-year-old woman from Grandin has died after she was hit by a train heading north through the city.

According to the North Dakota Highway Patrol, on Friday, October 24 at about 2:07 p.m., the woman was walking west on 3rd St. in Grandin when she was hit by a northbound train.

The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.

The NDHP is investigating the crash.
