Beau Jangles completed a perfect 12-for-12 season and locked up a North American championship, winning the Breeders’ Crown two-year-old colt pace at Woodbine Mohawk Park in a new Canadian record time of 1:48 3/5. Article content Article content
Driven by Bob McClure, Beau Jangles took the lead as the 10-horse field approached the final turn and from there, withstood all remaining challengers to win by a length. McClure knew exactly what his colt had at all times.
“We had the best post possible,” McClure said of his exit from post six. “I didn’t want to get him into trouble.”
