CLEMSON – Clemson’s season is more than halfway finished, which is a stunning statement seven games into a season.
In the Dabo Swinney era, the Tigers almost always get to 14 games with a conference title contest plus a bowl or playoff matchup.
But now, they are sitting at 3-4, and almost certainly won’t play in an ACC title game. It’s not guaranteed the Tigers get a 13th game via a bowl, either.
It’s been an historically bad stretch of football for Swinney, who has Clemson with four losses in its first seven games for the first time since 2004 under Tommy Bowden . For the first time since 1970-71, Clemson has lost five straight to power conference foes at home.
