Edith Estrada Sigala, a 29-year-old mother from Albuquerque, has been indicted by a grand jury on charges of child abuse resulting in the death of her seven-month-old baby, who was found unresponsive in a bathtub on March 3, 2025.

Sigala took one shot of Pink Whitney Vodka prior to putting the baby in the bath, she told Albuquerque Police Department detectives.

Detectives noted that more than 12 hours later, Sigala still smelled like alcohol and asked her to be honest about her alcohol consumption.

Sigala can be heard claiming numerous times that that she wasn't drunk at the time, responding: "I'm being honest with you a hundred percent. My kid just died. I'm being a hundred percent honest. I took one shot. I did drink a lot yesterday."
