State Route 2 Multimodal Project Will Add Bus Lanes, Rebuild Sidewalks, Improve Safety From West L.A. To Echo Park
Caltrans plans to launch a $70 million infrastructure project next year that will bring new transit, pedestrian, and safety upgrades to State Route 2 between West Los Angeles and Echo Park, starting on October 27 through November 2. The initiative, known as the State Route 2 Multimodal Project , is designed to improve mobility across several of Los Angeles’ most congested corridors while extending the life of one of the region’s key east–west thoroughfares.
The project includes pavement rehabilitation, new bus priority lanes, and accessibility improvements across three major sections:
West Los Angeles: Santa Monica Boulevard between Centinela Avenue and the I-405 freeway
