Victor walked away with a huge upset over Thomas in the sectional quarterfinals.

Thomas started on top, but a Gus Pappajohn touchdown pass to Gage Hay tied the game up at 6-6.

Late in the first half, the Blue Devils were on the move again. A pass from Pappajohn to Kevin Booth set up Victor for a field goal and a 9-6 lead at the break.

Thomas took the opening possession of the second half all the way to midfield before a deep pass attempt was intercepted by Victor's Luke Johnson. That turnover led to another Blue Devils field goal to give them a 12-6 lead.

The rest of the game was a defensive battle. A big fourth-down stop gave possession to Victor late in the game. On third down, Matthew Langan broke off a 30-yard run to secure the first down and the victor
