City-winning apprentice Siena Grima has her eyes set on a win in Sunday’s $75,000 Imperial Hotel Coonabarabran Showcase Cup (1600m) when she combines with the Jeremy Gask-trained Who Ever Thought.
Grima, who has enjoyed success in Sydney with trainer Chris Waller, doesn’t claim on country tracks any more, but that hasn’t stopped Gask booking her to ride his form galloper in the feature at Coonabarabran.
Who Ever Thought won two in a row at Scone and Canterbury in May and June this year. The son of Panzer Division then ran fourth on the Kensington track at Randwick before successive thirds at Warwick Farm and Dubbo.
The latest placing was with Grima in the saddle behind Cristal Clear in the Dubbo Gold Cup.
Who Ever Thought has amassed almost $220,000 in prizemoney, courtesy of six wins
