A group of photographers have been hospitalised following a huge crash at Saturday's Supercars event on the Gold Coast after driver Brodie Kostecki hit a wall at speed.

Kostecki, who was crowned Supercars champion in 2023, slammed into into the tyre barrier during his final run of the qualifier after clipping the wall earlier in the session.

Four photographers who had been standing on the other side of the barrier were injured in the crash.

A Supercars spokesperson said the photographers were all in a stable condition.

“Two photographers sustained ankle injuries, one suffered an elbow injury, and a fourth received a head injury,” the spokesperson said in statement.

“All four are alert, talking, very stable and will be transported to hospital for further assessment."
