Barclays has explained why you can't make a certain type of payment - after a customer slammed the 'cynical' policy. The high street giant was accused of "failing the people you are supposed to service".

A Twitter/X user said: "Just got told at @Barclays bank that I cannot deposit cash into my partner's account. Has to be paid into mine and transferred. Control of us via money is already here. #NoToDigitalID"
