Rohit Sharma smashed a statement hundred for India, a first in eight months, as he set up a 237-run chase against Australia at the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday.
The 38-year-old Rohit cracked his 33rd ODI century off 105 deliveries and became only the 10th man in history to secure 50 international centuries. Besides his 12 tons in Test cricket, Rohit is still the joint-highest century-maker in the T20I format, which he retired from at the end of India’s victorious World Cup campaign in the Caribbean in July 2024.
Rohit and Virat Kohli brought up their 19th-century partnership in the format as they continued to break more records in the chase.
