Civil aviation minister K Rammohan Naidu on Saturday inaugurated the renovated Terminal 2 (T2) at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA), which will resume operations from Sunday. Built four decades ago by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), T2 had been closed since April this year for an extensive renovation. IGIA, India’s largest airport, comprises three terminals—T1, T2, and T3—and four runways, facilitating over 1,300 daily flight movements. Delhi International Airport Ltd (DIAL) operates the airport. At the inauguration, DIAL CEO Videh Kumar Jaipuriar said that IGIA’s total annual passenger handling capacity has now exceeded 100 million.
