Dozens of recently planted trees have been vandalized along St. Paul's Shepard Road, the second time it has happened in less than a year.
On Friday, St. Paul Parks and Recreation took to social media to report that 32 trees south of the High Bridge on Shepard Road had been vandalized.
The trees were cut a few feet from the ground with their canopies left behind, according to the post.
St. Paul Parks said it was “heartbroken” that the incident had occurred “once again.”

A similar incident happened last November, when around 60 trees that had recently been planted on the road were pulled out of the ground and thrown into the Mississippi River near the Wabasha Street Bridge, as reported by the Pioneer Press.
